Ishinomaki City 2012
The city of Ishinomaki (石巻市) in the Miyagi Region of Tohoku was among the cities hit worst by the Tsunami of April 7th, 2011. These images show the devestation of the Tsunami and earthquake's force even after one year of cleanup. Standing within the rubble and remains felt like visiting the remnants of a war zone. Against the tremendous destruction and loss of life, the people of Ishinomaki had obviously not lost hope during the effort of rebuilding.
